A child amazed with cameras

Recently I wondered myself, ‘oh, man, why do you love photography this much? Where does it come from?’ And then a light came down and told me: ‘Try to remember the place where you grew up. Remember all those cameras your mother used to buy, just to improve her imaging? Remember the first time you saw a brand new Yashica Rebel, and how it amazed your eyes? Yeah, now you could really freeze special moments the way you desired.’

And then I took it easier. Man, how nice it is to remember how photography started to fill my soul. I can still remember when I learned how to place the film properly inside that Canon AE-1 Program. Later, when I really knew what I was doing, there were some more simple questions: Flash or not to flash? Sparks or not? Filters or not? I must confess it took a while not to pick me up frequently.

And I’m still learning. We’re all learning. Just like I did today and probably tomorrow (even if I have to be scratched in my face).

Well, sometimes I really do know what is to have a mother. Besides the light, she gave me an amazing path to follow. And my dad as well.

    Nice shot.

I also stated off with a Yashica that my Grandmother gave to me.

It was a quite old (from the early 60s) SLR with a screw mounted semi-automatic lens and the metering wasn’t through the lens either.
